What little nature that is
left in Indianapolis is quickly disappearing.

At Mud Creek Conservancy,
we work to protect
Indianapolis’s largest
remaining natural area.

Connecting to Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park to the south, the Fall Creek greenway to the east, and the Mud Creek riparian corridor to the north, the Mud Creek Valley anchors one of the largest remaining forested corridors in Central Indiana. Spanning over 2,500 acres, it provides an ideal habitat for some of Indiana’s most beautiful and iconic plants and animals

The Love Family.jpg

We believe you shouldn’t have to leave the city to experience the beauty and wonder of nature.

That’s why, for the last 30 years, we have built a grassroots all-volunteer movement to permanently protect over 96 acres of habitat across 15 different properties in the Mud Creek Valley of northeast Indianapolis so future generations can experience its wonder and beauty right here in the city.

But with over 900 acres still needing protection, we’re far from done, and we need your help.

Will you join us?

Its simple.

Walk through SRNP.jpg

Enjoy the beauty of our natural land, a little adventure, and learn about the habitat along the way.

In June of 2024, Mud Creek Conservancy was thrilled to open the Sargent Road Nature Park. This was our first land purchase and our first public natural area.

Six years of hard work, countless volunteer hours, fundraising, planning, and elbow grease were well worth it, and we hope you and your family will enjoy this amenity for generations to come.
