Ben Miller, Executive Director
Ben Miller (MCC Executive Director) is excited to continue leading Mud Creek Conservancy in this new capacity. He and his wife Maggie have lived in the Mud Creek Valley (and on Mud Creek) since 2016 and have both served on the Mud Creek Conservancy board. For the past 6 years (2019-2025), Ben has served as MCC’s Board President. In that time, he helped lead the organization to its first land acquisition (and four others) and the creation of its flagship public space, Sargent Road Nature Park. Ben brings a background in land conservation and community engagement, having spent a decade with the Indiana DNR, where he worked as a fisheries biologist and later led one of the state’s largest land protection initiatives, the Healthy Rivers Initiative. Most recently, he also worked part-time as Land Protection Coordinator for the Central Indiana Land Trust Inc. He received his Bachelor’s of Science from Purdue University in Fisheries Biology within the Department of Foresty and Natural Resources. He currently also serves as Vice President of the Indiana Land Protection Alliance, a network of Indiana’s land trusts. Since serving as MCC President, the Millers also welcomed their two children to the Valley, Quinn (5) and Ansel (2), where they all enjoy exploring nature, watching and photographing wildlife, getting muddy in Mud Creek and building a community rooted in nature.
