Currently Protected Properties

Currently, MCC holds twelve conservation easements protecting a total of 34 acres, all located in Lawrence Township, Marion County.

This is MCC's latest conservation easement, generously donated by Bob and Barbara Biesterfeldt in December of 2007.  Encompassing 6.1 acres, this property already serves as a Hoosier Riverwatch monitoring site and preserves a large portion of the former McVay popcorn farm.
Lantern Road Corridor
MCC Board Member Diantha DeGraw and four of her Lantern Road neighbors collectively donated 5.2 acres of contiguous conservation easements, preserving a unique stretch of heavily wooded floodplain and riparian habitat in the Mud Creek watershed.

This was the original conservation easement donated to the Conservancy in 1996.

This easement was donated by the Indianapolis Water Company in 2000 and lies adjacent to the north boundary of Fort Harrison State Park and south of Fall Creek Road.

This 7 acre MCC nature preserve is a favorite of garden clubs, scout troops and other visitors. MCC is working with local Eagle Scout candidates to enhance the wildlife habitat of this parcel.
