Who we are

The Mud Creek Conservancy (MCC) was founded and incorporated in 1995 as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. The goal of MCC is to provide a proactive alternative to the unrelenting development pressures confronting the Mud Creek watershed, situated in eastern Madison County, southeast Hamilton County and northeast Marion County.

The Mud Creek watershed feeds Fall Creek, an important component of the Indianapolis water supply. The area lies immediately north of and adjacent to Fort Harrison State Park, an area of great ecological significance.

As of 2008, MCC holds twelve conservation easements protecting a total of 34 acres, including the MCC Nature Preserve, all located in Lawrence Township, Marion County.
